Using Marine Data to Estimate the Accuracy of Free Air Gravity Anomaly Models Derived From Satellite Altimetry

چکیده
Global gravity models from satellite altimetry missions have widely contributed to the improvement of knowledge over oceans. However, few are available with a validated accuracy model, as most recent V21 V32 Scripps Institution Oceanography (SIO). The aim this paper is propose method estimate any free air anomaly model derived marine data sets. main idea correlate error mean roughness on precise measurement areas. relationship obtained then generalized each point model. This grid eventually combined provided by models, reflecting errors related technology different satellites used. has been successfully applied successive versions SIO (from V18 V31) produce continuous grids North Atlantic Ocean. Validation results independent shows that proposed approach allows strongly improve estimation used models' which converges, whatever tested versions, toward minimal value 0.9 mGal flat

Gravity acceleration at the sea surface derived from satellite altimetry data using harmonic splines
Gravity acceleration data have grand pursuit for marine applications. Due to environmental effects, marine gravity observations always hold a high noise level. In this paper, we propose an approach to produce marine gravity data using satellite altimetry, high-resolution geopotential models and harmonic splines. On the one hand, harmonic spline functions have great capability for local gravity ...
متن کاملMarine gravity anomaly from Geosat and ERS 1 satellite altimetry
Closely spaced satellite altimeter profiles collected during the Geosat Geodetic Mission (-6 km) and the ERS 1 Geodetic Phase (8 km) are easily converted to grids of vertical gravity gradient and gravity anomaly. The long-wavelength radial orbit error is suppressed below the noise level of the altimeter by taking the along-track derivative of each profile. Ascending and descending slope profile...

changing altimetry information from satellites on the surface of seas and oceans, into anomaly gravity for example free air anomaly, is a fundamentally new method presented by researches. the determination of the free air gravity anomaly over the earth’s marine regions has led to a major improvement in our understanding of plate tectonic processes relating to oceanic ridges, the formation of ma...

With the continued threat from climate change, population growth and followed by increasing water demand, the need for hydrological data with high spatial resolution and proper time coverage to be felt more than ago. Therefore, having data such as terrestrial water storage changes and groundwater level changes with high resolution spatial helps to plan and make decisions for water resource mana...
